Hi Folks

Deniece and Martin came and visited us here in Majorca a few weeks ago and mentioned this site, so I'm here on their recomendation. I'm John - third son of Jack & Sheila Allen, although I'm known professionally as Adam Goodfellow, which causes much complications, believe me.

I live here in Majorca with my second wife, Jane Allen and my step son Steven Worthington and I'm in pretty regular contact with a lot of Rayners - Jim and Gladys are pretty regular visitors, we've had Peter, Philip and Susan, Winefred and Ronnie have been over a few times, as have Paul and Christine, and of course Deniece and Martin. When we go home to see my Mum and Dad in Bridlington we try and see Dennis & May, and normally bump into others on our travels.

We'll be back in UK just after Christmas, so if there's any parties going on, we always open to invitations!

Is it too early to wish people Happy Christmas? Oh what the hell ..... Feliz Navidad de descendientes Rayner en Espana!

intersting. Plenty of Rayner here in Burley in Wharfedale, with a history of Rayner blacksmiths at Burley forge too.

Hi Richard, thx for your entry, appreciated.
There is a new site, dont know if you are aware, that maps surnames throughout the world using electoral records and such. Take a look:

Nice site! I am still researching my Cheshire Rayner ("Rainow") roots from Northwich & Great Budworth parish. Lots of shoe makers, tailors and salt rock miners!

Regards,

Simon

Hi Simon, thx for your entry.
I notice your family tree (link) must have taken you quite some time to not only research, but to create on the web!

We wish you luck in your continuing search.

Thought I'd give this a blast. . . . you never know what might turn up. My Grandad was Henry Rayner from Wheatley Hill in Durham. Apparently some of his family (his dad maybe) were from Ireland. Its all a bit vague. Any help would be great!

Hi Adam, afraid we have nothing in our records referring to Ireland as a birthplace, but worth a blast!

I was born in Bradford Yorks in 1934,I have traced my tree back to 1796. The spelling of RAYNOR was a fault off the 1891 census taker, as before this date the spelling was RAYNER.I am looking for info on Richard Rayner born 1796 married Harriet 4 children. Catherin, John, Richard, and Edwin.I migrated to Australia in 1963and live in Melbourne.
